Professional Accomplishments
· Mike launched CyberNet Global, Inc, in 2000 after working almost 20 years as an independent contractor for some of the most respected Washington, D.C. area ship chartering brokers and US Defense Department contractors in the maritime and transportation fields.
· Thirty years of information development, cargo inspection, loading and discharge, real-time theater based situation analysis and problem solving for a wide variety of ship and cargo types in open as well as sensitive port and financial centers throughout the world.
Experience
· Experienced in the analysis, development and implementation of rapidly deployed problem solving processes in a variety of cultures and business climates.
· Experienced in operating with Bills of Lading and cargo acceptance procedures in relation to Letters of Credit triggers.
· Information and source development in the energy fields after natural disasters and/or failures in the supply and storage infrastructure.
· Instrumental in the acquisition and delivery (loading & discharge) of sensitive, unique cargoes around the world on behalf of US Defense Department intelligence agencies and our allies beginning in the 1980’s.
Areas of Specialization
· On scene situational analysis, risk assessment and problem solving plan development and implementation for special and sensitive cargoes.
· Local human asset development for special purpose projects in the US and a variety of foreign countries.
· Information and knowledge gathering at the 'hands on' level in all marine transportation, energy and other related industries and fields.
Education
· Served as a Capitol Page in the United States House of Representatives, graduating in 1976 from the United States Capitol Page School (Library of Congress)
· 1980 graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York.
· Mike has a Bachelor of Science degree and has held a U.S. Coast Guard Third Mate license on U.S. Flag vessels of unlimited tonnage on any waterway in the world.
Personal Achievements
· Mike worked on the Transition Team in the early days of the Reagan administration before moving into the private sector as Congressional Liaison for a prominent commodities trading and ship chartering brokerage firm in Washington D.C. and New York.
· As a merchant mariner, lobbyist and consultant, Mike has traveled extensively and gained business experience in over ninety foreign countries throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, South and Central America and the Middle East.
· He has been a member of The Board of Governors of the Westshore Alliance, The Executive Committee of the Florida Gulf Coast Commercial Association of Realtors, The Board of Governors of the Clearwater Chamber of Commerce, President of CLEARPAC, Chairman of US Senator Connie Mack’s Round Table, a former "Big Brother" and a member of Leadership Tampa's 1994 Class.
· He carries an 8 handicap on the golf course, has a fondness for sprint distance triathlons. He is an avid scuba diver and snow skier and stays fit with the daily CrossFit WOD and other forms of exercise and weight training.
· He received a varsity letter while competing on the US Merchant Marine Academy Pistol team in 1977 and remains an excellent marksman with a variety of weapons through frequent practice.
· Mike's most passionate leisure time activity is white water kayaking, which he has pursued for over 25 years on some of the most challenging rivers throughout the United States, Canada, South and Central America. |
